ANA TOPOLOVEC, RA
Project Architect
Ana Topolovec has been a partner with Peter Caradonna since 1985 on various projects and competitions. After graduation, Ms. Topolovec worked as a construction supervisor for large-scale developments throughout New York City and Long Island. Her skills made her an asset to New York State Office of Mental Health and at SUNY Stony Brook where she became the architect for the School of Medicine and the Long Island State Veteran’s Home. Over the past 13-years she has personally supervised the construction of over 2,000 beds for independent and assisted care living. Her experiences with large-scale projects enhance her role as quality control administrator within the firm. Her role allows us to have a fresh set of eyes to monitor projects and is an extension to the design/technical team approach, employed by the firm. Her work with the New York State Department of Health JCAHO review, and work at the Long Island State Veterans Home utilize her thorough knowledge of Life Safety Codes (LSC), including LSC 101, ADA, and building codes. Finally, she made her most recent mark in architecture through completion of several successful improvement grants, inclusive of the National Institutes of Health, the National Science Foundation, New York State NYSTAR research grants, and most recently the Federal VA grants for Construction of State Homes, catalog number 64-005.
Ms. Topolovec graduated cum laude from Barnard College, Columbia University, B.A., 1982, with a Bachelor of Architecture, Magna cum laude, from New York Institute of Architecture, 1987 and finally completion of a Harvard University, graduate grant in construction/architecture. Her current education includes completion of a masters Summa Cum Laude, and acceptance into a doctoral program, both through SUNY Stony Brook, in Architecture and Planning, and as a code enforcement officer for the State of New York, since 1997, inclusive of ADA and LSC training a the Fire Academy for the State of New York.
